Judie Kise: to answer this question, i think you need to ask WHAT is it do you think your children need to learn ? today? versus our time as a child ?Today versus yesterday: fundamentals haven't changed. Homeschooling should work just fine.Schools today like yesterday.... have vision of where society should be headed.Today... i believe the vision is bleak... hence the need for homeschooling (to create individual thought), Today schools do not promote resourcefulness or self improvement. Society has curved into a situation where: its OKAY to be reliant on thy neigbor's skills for hire. Hire someone to do tasks, ie/ cutting your lawn, fixing your computer, cleaning house, re roofing your home...... in short... if you want your son or daughter to be independent, resourceful and or a genious... i think you are better off home schooling ! Schools are not equiped with teachers whom promote, ALL stu! dents to be independent resourceful or geniouses... rather the opposite. down falls to homeschooling..... socializing with others..... networking.... seems to be a weak point.It would be very hard for your child to interact with 'people' with lesser values... lesser LIFE skills...just my thoughts...Show more
