Can a minor start a small business?

Robin Weelborg: I think minors can start a small business like a t-shirt brand or something similar to that, but if you're wanting to start a small business inside of a business building somewhere, you'll need a parent or another adult to sign off on it.

Darrin Hixenbaugh: Depending on the nature of the business, yes you can. My nephew had a lawn mowing business where he visited his list of clients every other week. If you are providing a service and don't need a specific premises - say decorating cakes from home - you can be any age. If you do need a premises - say like running a coffee shop where you need to rent a suitable place - no, you can't.
