What is horoscope? Is it connected to magic?

Octavio Roylance: Horoscopes have absolutely nothing to do with magick or witchcraft. However, many pagans do follow the stars because pagan beliefs are nature based and you can't get much more natural than following the ways that the earth, the moon, the sun and the stars all work together to create the great place in which our spirits and bodies reside. So far as interpreting these things such as in Horoscopes, it is quite an interesting science. But its not magic.

Randolph Lozoya: Many people have a lot of faith in astrology and believe that their future is decided more by the place and time of their birth than any other factor,it is not related to magic anyway.

Danette Slotnick: A horoscope includes a personalized Natal Chart (ie. positions of the Stars at the time of your birth and geographical position of a person's birth). You can get a Natal Chart and an interpretation for free on certain Astrology-related websites. Or, you can pay to an astrolog! er to make one for you.Making a chart includes lots of calculations etc., at this point I have no time to study this area further, but you'd be surprised at the accuracy of a Natal Chart (one made specifically for you). Not to say you'll have all the answers given, or the future predicted (that would nill your free will), but they can be accurate as far as helping to determine the type of personality and likes/abilities - artistic, intelectual etc. and provide more information. I don't personally pay much attn. to horoscopes, but find certain descriptions of a specific Zodiac sign to be quite accurate when I try to compare them to ppl. whose Sign I know.It is a mixture of divination & science, imho, many older civilizations have made predictions based on the positions of Stars and many old pre-Christian worship places hold a specific alignment. It is not evil, nor witchcraft. I don't like the idea of generalized horoscopes which are published daily online or in newspapers. Ho! wever, I think that all the learned ancients have had 'some' k! nowledge that we are yet to grasp today. But, you cannot make a same advice/ prediction for all persons born under one Zodiac sign.Anyways, if you don't like to read anything about it, just don't....Show more

Sherita Gallati: Horoscopes are predictions concerning one's life based on the placement and patterns of the stars. It is, for some, a new age or "magical" discipline, but for most people horoscopes are on the same level as fortune cookies and making birthday wishes.Just about every American newspaper publishes a Horoscope column, which features 12 different vague predictions for a persons day, based on when their birthday is.There are people who take horoscopes much more seriously. But for the most part, it horoscopes aren't too mystical....Show more

Danica Timperman: that's observing the celebs and making interpetions based on the celebs. it is not magic or witchcraft. Even the Christian faith using issues exterior of earth for specific dates. working exam! ple they use the moons to decide for while Easter will fall. 7 complete moons from the 1st of the twelve months. it somewhat is why Easter can fall everywhere from the beginning up of March to the middle of April. before sonagrams ect. They use to look on the moon to objective and decide while a newborn would be born. 9 complete moons had to pass because of the fact the female's final era. Horoscope pass previous the moon to different planets and are a fingerprint of a individual existence....Show more

Carmina Stickney: Pure superstition.

Kelly Bistodeau: It`s based on astrology (reading the stars and planets and their movement), numerology (determining years, dates and months and other numbers) and basically pigonholing people who were born in certain years or months into certain catagories of personality traits, etc. The Bible condemns astrologers and fortune tellers, and that is basically who make horoscopes. Most newspapers and magazines have horoscopes wher! e you look for your sign (date you were born according to the Zodiac) a! nd read what your fortune will be for the day, week, month, etc. or give you advice. They are usually pretty vague like saying "this week you will find many opportunities to pay back favors to someone you owe a favor to, now is your chance!" Or "this month will challange your resistance to change. Remember to give and take." You can imagine people get pretty into these things, yet they apply to just about anybody at any given time. I other words, it is just a bunch of nonesense and foolishness and nothing else. ....Show more
