Eldridge Rieves: It will depend on the DVD blank you use - check the camcorder's manual - typically, you need to finalize the disc in order for a DVD player to recognize it for playback.*Some* DVD blanks allow you to "unfinalize" in the camcorder and continue recording.My condolences to you on your having to use a DVD based camcorder.
