Will speed camera tickets effect my car insurance in Maryland?

Andra Oger: are you that lame?? of course they do,, you think just because a cop wasn't there they are freebies?

Lauri Ohl: Yes all tickets affect your insurance. When the ticket is put on their data base the insurance company will find out as soon as they check your driving history with them. They usually do that at every renewal to allow them to adjust your premium or give you a non renewal notice.

Cassey Hollinghurst: L O LHow many tickets have you gotten? All cars have speedometers and you should be looking at it, since with "several" in the past couple of months, means you have no clue how fast you are driving. ALL tickets and/or accidents stay on your record for 3 years on average. So,,,for the next 3 years, your premium will go up till they all drop off. And if you continue to ignore the speed limit, your car insurance will always be higher than someone without any tickets. good luck...Show more

Carter Dewater: yup it will increase your pr! emium. Most insurance add a surcharge to your premium after the first ticket. The surcharge can last up to three years. It also depends how fast you were driving. If you did "extreme speeding" (exceeded 90 mph, or 15 mph above any speed limit), it might be consider as reckless driving, which will lead to a major bump to your insurance...Show more
